Why I Started Memorable Home Buyers
I grew up in the Baltimore area and I still live here. I graduated from Glen Burnie High School in Anne Arundel County, which is one of the counties I buy in today. I started Memorable Home Buyers because I kept seeing Maryland families lose their homes to foreclosure and bad situations when they had options they never knew about. Nobody had explained those options in plain language, and nobody had made the exit simple.
So that is what I do. I buy houses directly, for cash, in any condition. There is no bank on my end slowing things down, no agent commission coming out of your pocket, and no repairs for you to make. I make a fair offer, I explain exactly how I got to the number, and I close when I say I will.
I am not a hedge fund and I am not a call center. When you reach out, you are talking to me. That is the whole point of keeping this small: you get a straight answer from the person who is actually buying your house.
Where I Come From
I grew up in Yale Heights, in West Baltimore. I went to Beechfield Elementary/Middle School and played football for the First and Ten Cowboys, then Pop Warner, all the way up to high school. Today I live in Parkville, where I have been for about five years now.
I come from a military family. My father served in Vietnam, and my brothers and uncles served too. As a kid I spent about a year living on base in Colorado with my brother. I was raised with Christian values, and between the faith and the military side of my family, one lesson came through clearly: your word is your bond. If you say you will do something, you do it.
I carry that into this company. I also lean on Stoic thinking, which comes down to focusing on what you can control. When you sell your house to me, the thing I control is whether I keep my word. So that is the thing I take most seriously.
Outside of Work
When I am not looking at houses, I am usually outdoors. I hike and camp at parks around Maryland, and at national parks when I can get away. I fish. I build and buy cars, mostly fast cars and drift cars. I still play pickup games, and I will play a video game now and then.
I root for the Ravens and the Wizards. Home teams only, no bandwagons.
I eat local and buy local whenever I can, farm stands included. Pizza is my favorite food, and my spot is Dominick's Pizza on Harford Road in Parkville. Frank's Pizza in Overlea and Merritt Subs in Dundalk are right behind it. If you are from around here, you have your own list, and I would like to hear it.
